Welcome to poetry gala's first Africa Poetry Competition. This competition is open to poems in any style and on any subject under 30 lines long.
The prize for first place is Kshs.40,000, with Kshs.20,000 for the best runner-up from Kenya and $200 for the best runner-up from the rest of Africa . Ten special commendations will also be awarded and all the winners will be published in Poetry gala's.
The contest is open to poems of any style and on any subject, but they must not be longer than 30 lines. The closing date for submissions is October 1, 2009. You can enter three poems for just Kshs.300 each, five poems for only Kshs.250 each, or ten poems for only Kshs.180 per poem.
